Your Donation Means the World to Us!
The International Seamen’s Center was founded in 1985 and is entirely dependent on voluntary donations. We are a 501 (c) (3) organization and your donation is tax deductible. Thanks to our supporters we are able to be there when seafarers need us most. We welcome your donation to support the Center’s mission to provide a safe harbor for seafarers while they dock at our Port. Individual, church and corporate sponsorships are available.
The International Seamen’s Center (ISC) is a 501(c) (3) interdenominational non-profit organization with the mission of serving the temporal and spiritual needs of the seamen visiting our port. Our ministry is funded by entirely by donations from local churches, businesses and individuals, as well as grants from organizations such as the ITF Seafarer’s Trust.
We were blessed in 2013, with a successful fundraising campaign which allowed us to purchase a new facility for our mission without incurring any debt. However, the Center is always in need of financial AND volunteer support. We also would welcome contributions of bibles, periodical magazines, Christian videos, and gifts for our annual Christmas giving program for the seamen.
Most of all, we need the gift of your time and your prayers. The ISC has one paid chaplain on staff while all of the rest of the duties of the ministry are performed by a dedicated group of volunteers. The Center’s goal is to maintain volunteer staff at the Center from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm, seven days per week to minister to the needs of the seamen who arrive in our Port on a daily basis. This requires about 60 volunteers who often work in four-hour shifts.
Please consider joining us as a volunteer. Anyway you can help us – whether in your workplace, local club, church or community group, or school – there are countless ways you can raise funds for the Center or find other ways to get involved to support this important mission.
Individuals, organizations, businesses and churches interested in learning more about the International Seamen’s Center, as well as charitable giving and volunteering opportunities, please contact Chaplain Ritchie Wammack or Chaplain Henry Capillary to request more information or to schedule a presentation to your organization.
